Tax Trainee

As a Tax Trainee, you will assist the tax team in the management and delivery of tax services for DPC clients, gaining skills and knowledge through a combination of on-the-job training and study.

Over 2 years, you will follow the apprenticeship standard for Taxation Technician to become ATT qualified. You will also receive internal training and development alongside your studies. Once qualified, we then offer further training and development to continue your career progression within DPC.


Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the tax department with personal tax administration tasks.
  • Obtain information from clients.
  • Compile information received from clients, ensure it is correctly allocated and filed.
  • Progress to preparing and completing income tax returns for individual clients, including calculation of tax position.
  • Notify clients of tax liabilities.
  • General tax department support.


Ideal candidate:

  • Available to start on 01 July 2024.
  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grades 9-4 (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Ability to problem solve effectively, and to work on own initiative.
  • Strong team player, with an organised and positive attitude to work.
  • Excellent time management, organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work methodically and follow process.
  • Confident and clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexible in approach to work tasks, being able to adapt quickly to new circumstances as they arise.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office word and excel.
  • Proactive approach to own personal and professional development.
