Rishi Sunak delivered his second Budget as Chancellor on 3 March 2021. He began by outlining his £65 billion three-point plan “to protect jobs and livelihoods of the British people”.
- Continue doing whatever it takes to support British people and businesses.
- Fix public finances
- Begin the work of building the future economy
The Office of Budget Responsibility is forecasting a swifter and more sustained recovery than expected. It is expected that the economy will return to pre-Covid level by the middle of next year, however the Chancellor said that Covid-19 has done damage.
The Chancellor announced a series of further support to hopefully protect businesses and jobs until the economy recovers.
