Spring Budget – Plan To Protect Jobs And Livelihoods Of The British People

Rishi Sunak delivered his second Budget as Chancellor on 3 March 2021. He began by outlining his £65 billion three-point plan “to protect jobs and livelihoods of the British people”.

  1.  Continue doing whatever it takes to support British people and businesses.
  2. Fix public finances
  3. Begin the work of building the future economy

The Office of Budget Responsibility is forecasting a swifter and more sustained recovery than expected. It is expected that the economy will return to pre-Covid level by the middle of next year, however the Chancellor said that Covid-19 has done damage.

The Chancellor announced a series of further support to hopefully protect businesses and jobs until the economy recovers.
