Extension to filing deadline for Company Accounts

From today (25 March 2020), businesses will be able to apply for a 3-month extension for filing their accounts. This joint initiative between the government and Companies House will mean businesses can prioritise managing the impact of Coronavirus.
Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme

Under the coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, all UK employers with a PAYE scheme will be able to access support to continue paying part of their employees’ salary for those that would otherwise have been laid off during this crisis.
Coronavirus VAT Payment Deferral

The Government will support businesses by deferring Valued Added Tax (VAT) payments for 3 months. The deferral will apply for payments dates falling between 20 March 2020 to 30 June 2020. All UK businesses are eligible.
IR35 “off-payroll” rules postponed to April 2021

In light of the current business uncertainty surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic, the Government have decided to delay the introduction of the off payroll working rules which were due to be introduced from 6 April 2020. The legislation is now expected to take effect from 6 April 2021.
Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) Relief

The Government are predicting that up to 20% of the workforce may be unable to work due to Coronavirus at any one time. It had already been announced that employees would be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay from day 1 not day 4.
