DPC Acquire Biddulph Accountancy Practice to Expand Portfolio and Client Base

As part of progressive expansion plans, we are pleased to announce the takeover of local Biddulph accountancy practice Murray Chartered Accountants.

The company was acquired in September 2017 by DPC due to the director’s retirement and more than 100 new clients have been introduced to our team. DPC directors took personal steps to ensure that the necessary support was in place to transition each client account as smoothly as possible – maintaining the level of service they had become accustomed to.

The purchase of the Murray Chartered Accountants has enabled DPC to expand further across the Staffordshire and Cheshire border and to better service clients outside Stoke-on-Trent.

“It’s been a very positive process and we’re pleased to welcome new staff members into the DPC family and are very eager to build quality relationships with our new clients,” explained DPC.

“Murray Chartered Accountants had a great reputation and we’re honoured to be able to continue Ian’s legacy.”

Commemorating 75 years in accountancy

DPC celebrate 75 years in business this year and are embarking on a rebrand exercise to mark the occasion.

We have a rich history and have doubled in size over the past 15 years. Part of our continued success is down to the dedication and loyalty of our staff and their commitment to all clients. Without their expertise, hard work and reliability it would be difficult to incorporate a large accountancy practice such as Murray Chartered Accountants into our portfolio – it’s a testament to the team that we’ve been able to accommodate everyone so quickly and efficiently.

Continuing the memory of a local success

Ian Bartley Murray founded Murray Chartered Accountants in the mid 1980s. The company grew to a healthy size offering a range of services including bookkeeping, statutory accounts and eventually auditing.

Back in 2008, Murray Chartered Accountants acquired BG Kelsall & Co, a small practice in Milton, Stoke-on-Trent, which allowed them to expand further towards the city centre.

Mr Murray, now of retirement age, decided to hang up his ledgers and spend quality time with family and friends. May we wish you the very best for your new lease of life, from everyone here at DPC.
