DPC Chartered Accountants joins Sumer, as eleventh Hub

Stoke-on-Trent, UK– July 17, 2024 — DPC Chartered Accountants, a well-known firm in Staffordshire, has been acquired by Sumer, the UK’s leading mid-market accountancy practice for SMEs, boosting growth prospects in the region.

Built on 80 years of experience, DPC Chartered Accountants (DPC) utilises intelligent accounting solutions to guide businesses and private clients. Operating from its Stoke-on-Trent office, DPC provides high-quality audit, accounts, corporate and personal tax advice, compliance counsel, payroll, and wider business services.

DPC boasts a fifty-percent female partner ratio across the company and is highly respected in the region for its dedication to diversity, its people, and cultivating strong client relationships.

Having now acquired its eleventh firm across the UK, Sumer’s strategy continues to focus on creating regional Hubs dedicated to serving the SME market, significantly empowering local communities, and bolstering the broader economy.

DPC is also strategically located between the existing Hubs, Cowgills and Jerroms, who joined Sumer in the last year. This positioning will enhance coverage and strengthen Sumer’s reach between the Midlands and North West.

Warren Mead, CEO of Sumer said: “DPC dominates the accounting sector in Staffordshire, an area which has huge potential for economic growth. Sumer wants to join forces with people who share our commitment to growth, go the extra mile for clients, and care about their colleagues. With DPC’s impressive team, established roots, and solid reputation, combined with our reach and scale, we can help local businesses prosper.”

Michelle Coates, Director at DPC Accountants, said: “Our firm has continually delivered a robust value proposition for both clients and our team. Sumer embodies ethics that closely mirror our own, particularly their exemplary record in championing diversity and supporting SMEs. This synergy makes them an ideal partner for us, as we continue to excel and advocate for Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas.”

Sumer is emerging as a key accountancy player in the UK. Launched in 2023, it has ten other regional accountancy Hubs, with more than 40 offices, and over 1,300 colleagues. Sumer Law was also launched in June, offering legal services to Sumer’s SME client base, focusing on corporate, commercial, and employment advice.

Sumer Hubs include: Carpenter Box, Cowgills, EQ Chartered Accountants, Jerroms, Monahans, RMT Accountants & Business Advisors, R.T. Marke & Co Ltd, Scrutton Bland,  Simmons Gainsford Group, Sumer Northern Ireland and now DPC Accountants.
